Shimmering heat has arrived, in Northern California, 150 miles off the coast, brought by hot winds, coming from the inland deserts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All of a sudden, too early for trees, fields, animals, cities and people, no one ready yet, no more escaping now for the next five months, this heat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Heat is swallowing the pleasant air of a short spring, soon turning early greens into dry, golden hay,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

a monster, crawling through the streets, over boiling asphalt, covering all life with a blanket, too hot, <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Once again, all life succumbs to the power of nature, hides in houses, office buildings, shopping malls, and dark places,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

to wait until night sets all free, offering starry nights and fresh air to breath.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Es herrscht wieder flirrende Hitze, in Nord Kalifornien, 150 Milen abseits der K\u00fcste, von hei\u00dfen Winden aus den W\u00fcsten im Inland gebracht.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pl\u00f6tzlich, zu fr\u00fch f\u00fcr B\u00e4ume, Felder, Tiere, St\u00e4dte und Menschen, niemand ist bereit, nun gibt es kein Entkommen, nicht f\u00fcr f\u00fcnf endlose Monate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hitze verschluckt die k\u00fchle Luft des zu kurzen Fr\u00fchlings, verwandelt bald fr\u00fches Gr\u00fcn in goldenes Heu. Hitze kriecht wie ein Monster durch die Strassen, \u00fcber den Asphalt, bedeckt die Welt mit einer Decke, viel zu heiss.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wieder unterwirft sich alles Leben der st\u00e4rkeren Naturgewalt, verbirgt sich in H\u00e4usern, B\u00fcros, Einkaufszentren, und dunkeln Verstecken\u2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wartend, bis die Nacht erl\u00f6st, einen Sternenhimmel und frische Atemluft bietend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
