Wie zuvor heißt‘s, mich entscheiden,
was von all den Sachen brauch‘ ich denn
zum Leben dort, und überaupt?
Es ist wieder an der Zeit,
mich von Ballast zu befrei’n,
angehäuft in schweren Kisten.
Nur Gedanken und Erinnerungen,
nehm ich mit zum neuen Ort
– kostbarste Güter.
Moving forward
Once again, it‘s time to decide
what of all these trivial things.
Do I need in life, here or there?
It‘s time again to cast away,
worthless weight,
accumulated far too long,
Only memories, most valuable goods
travel on with me
to this new destination.
